Jim and Spaz’s Great Adventure

Jim Scott and Spaz left their humble, glorious, and otherwise gentle lifestyles to be that of a rockstar.  They took off to Jupiter, Florida to take in the sights and sounds of Spring Training in Jupiter, FL.  In their travels they tried wonderful new cuisines, talked to the Hoppers alumni, and if you know anything at all about these two, they can’t go anywhere without having a great time!  I caught up with Jim earlier and he wanted to tell you a little about his trip.   Here’s what he had to say…

“Spaz and I went to Spring Training as fans. We stood along with all the other fans as the Marlins’ players strode by, heading towards the bullpen or dugout. The only difference was, when the guys who had spent time in Greensboro gave that little sideways glance to see who was calling their names and spotted us wearing our Greensboro gear, they responded with smiles, instead of frowns. Chris Coghlan, Wilfredo Gimenez, Kyle Skipworth, Joe Espada, Giancarlo Stanton, Steve Cishek, Jacob Realmuto, Jack McKeon, Christian Yelich, Marcel Ozuna, John Duffy- the list goes on- all came over to shake our hands and reminisce about the ‘boro and ask about their many friends back in North Carolina.

We got the impression that even though they’ve left Greensboro, Greensboro will never leave them. To me, that’s what working for a minor league team is all about. Especially one that’s as exceptional as the Grasshoppers…”

Very well said Jim!  That is what keeps people coming back for more.  It is also for that reason that it was, is, and forever will be A GREAT TIME TO BE A HOPPER!
